Claire Mooney is a colour visionary, uniting seemingly conflicting components in a tapestry like cohesion. She utilises techniques in print transfer and painting to explore the process and methods of interference and intersection between elements. Visually stunning this work references text and textiles, encoding, craft, technology and of course landscape.
Claire Mooney completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Honours at RMIT in 1999, a Master of Visual Art at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2004, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education at The University of Melbourne in 2010. She has been a practising artist for the past 15 years, and has exhibited her work regularly in both solo and curated projects.
Since 2006, Claire has been active in the Melbourne ARI sector, sporadically acting as an administrator, gallery director, researcher, board and committee member, advisor and, most recently, Education Program Coordinator at BLINDSIDE.
